“It’s a great result”

« I’m extremely happy, it’s a great result, especially since we tried a lot of things on the car on Friday and I wasn’t comfortable and not satisfied. But we put everything in order in qualifying, it wasn’t easy but I was confident that we could fight. We had some great fights, it was heated at certain times, it was really on the limit, but that’s also what we like, in the end we had a very clean race and we managed to get some good points for the team ” told Pierre Gasly in comments reported by NextGen-Auto.

Esteban Ocon frustrated despite everything

Alpine could nevertheless have hoped for better this Sunday. If the result of Pierre Gasly is satisfactory, Esteban Ocon was forced to abandon. The 27-year-old driver suffered a mechanical failure and did not hide his frustration after the race. “ It’s a shame for the team, we were going to score points with both cars and big points, so we have to make sure that doesn’t happen again » he explained. It now remains to be seen whether Alpine will be able to continue its momentum, the French team experiencing a rather delicate season so far.
