Foot OL – Fabio Grosso, an OL legend applauds – Olympique Lyonnais

After several days of rumors, it is Fabio Grosso who should in all likelihood take over the reins from Laurent Blanc at Olympique Lyonnais. Good news for Juninho.

Having played as a player between 2007 and 2009, at the end of his career, Fabio Grosso should return to Lyon. The Italian coach overtook compatriot Gennaro Gattuso and agreed a deal with John Textor. Thus, theOL will find a veteran of the house but not a French coach. Free from any contract since his departure from Frosinone this summer, after winning Serie B with the Giallazzurri, the former defender will have the (very) heavy task of restoring the image of the Rhone club which is experiencing a catastrophic start to the season with a place at the bottom of Ligue 1. Fortunately, for skeptical supporters, Juninho reassures Les Gones and ensures that his former teammate is the right man for the job for OL.

Juninho is convinced, Fabio Grosso can save OL

“He was always attentive to the atmosphere in our group. He had a winning mentality and very intelligent thinking about the game. We already felt that later he would go into coaching. I hope he will be able to bring rigor back into the locker room in Lyon, that’s the most important thing. I think he will have the supporters with him. Fabio will have to succeed in putting simple things in place and pushing everyone to work, changing the mentality of the players. He will need patience. Then he can make the team play the way he likes.” declared the former OL sporting director in an interview for the newspaper l’Équipe. Juninho believes that Fabio Grosso can change the face of Lyon but that we must give him time so that he can put his ideas in place. It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to secure a European place at the end of the year.
