Foot OL – OL coach Deschamps is disgusted – Olympique Lyonnais

With the recent dismissal of Laurent Blanc, Olympique Lyonnais must find a new coach. If several foreign names were mentioned, Didier Deschamps regrets this choice and defends the French technicians.

Last in Ligue 1 with three defeats and only one draw, Laurent Blanc was logically dismissed from his duties at Lyon. The French coach no longer had the heart to lead theOL and John Textor is actively looking for his successor who should be a foreigner. At least this is his stated desire not to recruit among French technicians. The favorite to succeed Blanc should be Gennaro Gattuso, although Oliver Glasner, Graham Potter, Marcello Gallardo, Thiago Motta, Habib Beye were also in the race. However, many fans are pessimistic about the arrival of the Italian, whose experiences have not been really conclusive in Italy. For Didier Deschamps, it is better to give a chance to a French coach who knows Ligue 1 well, rather than to a foreign coach with whom the general public is often more lenient.

Deschamps defends the record of French coaches in Ligue 1

“I have already spoken on this. I deeply regret it, because I find that the French coach is not valued. I am not criticizing the competence of foreign coaches. Coaches who don’t know Ligue 1, who don’t know the French language. I find that we give a lot of credit to a foreign coach while we are much more radical with a French coach. It’s regrettable” admitted the coach of the France team, before the friendly match against Germany at a press conference. Lyon returns to the championship on September 17 with a decisive match against Le Havre and while waiting to find a new coach, it is Jean-François Vulliez who will have to take over as interim coach, alongside Jérémie Bréchet and Sonny Anderson. Deschamps is clear on the subject, he believes that a French coach should have as much chance as foreigners for Les Gones.
