If Kevin Jousset is not yet well known to the French public, it is certainly because he has lived on the other side of the world for years. A resident of City Kickboxing alongside Israel Adesanya, he spoke about his departure and his life in Oceania.

When we think of the French in the UFC, we think above all of established stars like Ciryl Gane, Benoît Saint-Denis and Manon Fiorot, who have a chance of winning belts in the organization in the coming months. Moreover, many enthusiasts should stay up or wake up next March to witness the clash between BSD and Dustin Poirier.

Before long, if everything goes well and if he progresses, Kevin Jousset could why not join this elite of French MMA, although he has been living abroad for many years now. Expatriated in Australia and New Zealand, where he trains with Israel Adesanya, it is there that he experienced his first real emotions in the cage and where he made a name for himself.

Kevin Jousset talks about his life in Australia

With his 30 years of age and his career record of 10 wins and 2 losses, “Air” Jousset has good hopes of climbing the ranks in the premier organization. During’an interview given to the YouTube channel “After Fight”he explained his decision to leave France early and what life on the other side of the world has brought to his career:

When I left I was young, I was 22 or 23 years old. At that age you’re just happy to go to the other side of the world, you don’t know what’s going to happen… So I wasn’t anxious, it was quite the opposite. I was really happy to leave France because I wanted to discover something else. It was good, I really enjoyed it and it helped a lot, both humanly and sportingly.

It’s especially difficult over the years, when you’ve been gone for a long time, when you don’t often see your family, your friends. Your colleagues get married, have children, that kind of thing… That’s when you tell yourself that you miss France. On the other hand, when I arrived at City Kickboxing, the first day I did sparring with the pros. I knew at that moment that I wanted to go to the UFC.

Kevin Jousset left France many years ago, and although he sometimes regrets the lack of closeness with his loved ones, life abroad allowed him to discover his path, that of MMA. From his first training in Oceania, he realized that he had a great card to play, and he was absolutely right. He is training today with a superstar like Israel Adesanya, he is under contract with the UFC… Everything is fine!

Kevin Jousset proudly represents France in the UFC, even if he hasn’t lived there for years and learned everything on the other side of the world. What is certain is that he would be received like a king if he came to fight in Paris in the future.
