New international women’s competition, the Gold Cup begins this Wednesday. The United States, with Lindsey Horan, meets the Dominican Republic.

A historic first. The United States will host the first edition of the Women’s Gold Cup starting this Wednesday. This tournament, which runs until March 10, sees countries representing North America, Central America and the Caribbean compete. The Americans, hosts of the competition, will begin their journey with a poster against the Dominican Republic in Los Angeles. A match played during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in France (4:30 a.m.).

Placed in Pool A, Lindsey’s teammates Horan will have to battle against Argentina (February 24) and Mexico (02/27) for a ticket to the knockout phase. These last two nations will challenge each other at 1:30 a.m. to officially open the ball.

Let us add that one other LyonnaiseVanessa Gilles, will take part in the Gold Cup. With Canada, the central defender will enter the fray on Friday (3 a.m. French time) against El Salvador, who eliminated Guatemala in a preliminary round. She will then face Paraguay (02/25) and Costa Rica (02/29).
