It’s a surprise, Grégory Alldritt is out of the France XV World Cup match this Thursday against Namibia. Fabien Galthié explained to the media the reasons for his absence.
Fabien Galthié announced this Tuesday noon the composition of the French XV which will face Namibia this Thursday at the Vélodrome in Marseille, as part of the 3rd day of Pool A of the Rugby World Cup. The debuts in the competition of Jonathan Danty and Cyril Baille among the executives represent the main information. However, Grégory Alldritt’s package was not at all expected. Although the coach did not seem the least bit alarmed, the Rochelais is out.
“Grégory (Alldritt, editor’s note) felt knee discomfort, it was spared. We made the decision with Greg to ensure that he is adapted and to wait until he is 100% to play with the French XV” explained the French coach at a press conference. This precaution is to the delight of Anthony Jelonch who therefore has a second consecutive tenure with the XV of France. His status as captain against Uruguay was a first sign. It is now confirmed, he has clearly overtaken Sekou Macalou and Paul Boudehent in the hierarchy of the 3rd lines by settling into this team in the middle of the executives.
Initially not invited to the match sheet, Paul Boudehent will take his place on the substitutes’ bench for this meeting.
