Top 14: The UBB lets out a rant!

While UBB had not lost a single home match this season, Yannick Bru’s men conceded two consecutive defeats, against Stade France then against the Section Paloise. When hosting Racing 92, the objective was obviously to emerge victorious and it was achieved with a large success, 21-5. But the arbitration was not at all to the taste of Yannick Bru, the UBB manager, who made it known.

The match against Racing 92 had all the makings of a trap match for a team of l’UBB in bad shape in recent weeks. The Gironde team remained on two consecutive defeats in Top 14, including a rout against Castres (12-41). At the Chaban-Delmas stadium, l’UBB won and climbed to third place on the podium.

“I think we were very poorly officiated on the ground game”

At a press conference after the victory of l’UBB facing Racing 92, the manager of the Bordeaux team, Yannick Bru, showed himself annoyed by the arbitration: “ It’s easier to talk after a victory but we prepare the matches very carefully with the referees and I think that doesn’t help much. I was very unhappy at halftime with the appreciation of the ground game even after a won game. Everyone delivers their performance and we will analyze it coldly but I find that we were very poorly refereed on the ground game. I say this because I feel like my players are trying a lot and in the first half I was quite frustrated. »

“We were better in the second half,”

« We were better in the second half, including in the ground game, where we were rewarded morecontinues Bru. We collected balloons from outside. We put an end to dangerous possessions for Racing thanks to the fight on the ground. »
